Carrot halwa recipe | Gajar ka halwa




Carrot Halwa Recipe

Ingredients
Carrot, grated - 2 cups
Milk - 1 & 3/4 cups
Sugar - 1 cup
Ghee - 3 tsp
Cashew & Pistachios - 5
Cardamom powder and Salt - a pinch
 
Method
1.       Wash carrots and peel off the skin, grate the carrots

2.       Take a thick bottomed pan and fry the grated carrots with a tsp of ghee for about 2 minutes

3.       Add the milk and pinch of salt let it cook in low flame

4.       Cook till the milk evaporates and carrot gets cooked

5.       when the mixture dry, add sugar and keep stirring

6.       when the mixture starts thick, add nuts fried in ghee and stir for few minutes
 
Tips

·         You can add less ghee than mentioned, using a heavy bottomed is a must

·         You can add nuts your choice, the halwa keeps well 2 days if refrigerated
